| This is a F.A.Q of Needed and random info. Knightmare frame Generations- Spoiler:
First Age: Infancy
The beginnings of the Knightmare Frame came from the creation of 'emergency survival cockpits' for conventional vehicles. Equipped with rocket engines to fly the crew away from the wreck, the contraptions were soon equipped with artificial legs to allow greater mobility. Limited room inside said vehicles restricted the number of legs to two. Though not a weapon in any sense of the word, the 'walking cockpits' provided the base form for their successors.
Second Age: Turning Point
Several years later, the creation of several common Knightmare Frame technologies, such as the Factspheres and Landspinners, lead to the funding for Knightmare Frame prototypes. However, the new technologies performed erratically, and the research was outsourced to military-based robotics projects and social-oriented programs. The former was assigned to a Britannian Army Special Division, the 'Special Dispatch Guidance System Division', while the latter went in the hands of a private group, the Ashford Foundation. The foundation implemented technologies related to training and education, enabling the entire Knightmare Frame program to make progress fluidly.
The bipedal weapon was nicknamed 'Knightmare' by the Army but its non-offensive equipment was referred to as 'Frame' by civilians. The union of those two terms gave birth to the name 'Knightmare Frame'.
Third Age: Archetype
With the results gained from the two separate programs, Knightmare Frames were developed in combat-effective platforms. Use of Sakuradite became paramount in making the Knightmare Frames perform to expectations, resulting in the mineral's value increasing greatly, turning it into resource as important as fossil fuel in international politics.
The Third Age also marked the creation of the Ganymede prototype, manufactured and designed by the Ashford Foundation. Its test pilot, Marianne, quickly became famous and was granted knighthood, before eventually getting married to the Britannian Emperor. However, the company suffered great loss when Marianne was assassinated. The Ashford Foundation eventually retired from its business and its employees were disbanded. The truth on the Empress' death was never truly elucidated but rumors suggest that her downfall was caused by a political feud meant to keep the rising Ashford Foundation in check.
Fourth Age: Implementation
The Fourth Age saw the introduction of the RPI-11 Glasgow, the first mass-production weapons platform. Its abilities allowed the Britannian Empire to easily dominate Japan during the invasion in 2010 A.T.B. The Glasgow moved on to become the baseline unit for the Britannian Army, though it is eventually made obsolete. Some Glasgow units are still used by the Knightpolice for law enforcement, and other countries have used it as a base in the creation of their own Knightmare Frames.
Fifth Age: Evolution
Following the success of the Knightmare Frames against conventional weapons of war, attention was turned to creating Knightmare Frames intended to destroy similar weapons, including other Knightmare Frames. The Sutherland is the result of this. The Sutherland feature improvements to cockpit comfort and function, better mobility, and increased close-combat capabilities to emphasize its role as an anti-robot weapon. The Second Princess Cornelia and her bodyguards make use of the Gloucester, a Sutherland variant designed specifically to combat other Knightmare Frames, reflecting the Chinese Federation and the EU's development of their own Knightmare Frames.
Sixth Age and Seventh: Missing and Continuation
The sixth age features almost no improvements in Knightmare Frame technology, earning it the moniker "Missing Generation". The creation of the Seventh Generation Lancelot marked the first significant innovation. Sakuradite is not only used in the Yggdrasil Drive, but is also scattered throughout the frame, increasing performance dramatically in all areas. This allows the Lancelot to effectively employ the MVS (Maser Vibration Sword) and electromagnetic shielding. In addition to the frame, Sakuradite is also used in the VARIS (Variable Ammunition Repulsion Impact Spitfire), with the intent of giving it the strength to survive a direct hit. This kind of rapid development completely defies the notion of general purpose and mass production units, resulting in the Lancelot being a unique machine. The first mass-production seventh generation frame is the Vincent, which bears many similarities in design to the Lancelot. However, it lacks many of the Lancelot's experimental technologies.
Eighth and Ninth Age
The Eight and Ninth Ages are the current in-development units of Britannia, lead by Camelot heads Lloyd Asplund and Cécile Croomy. The latest development, considered part of the Ninth Age, is the Energy Wing system.
Geass, What it is/Random info.- Spoiler:
Geass is a mysterious ability which certain people can bestow upon others; C.C. is the most prominent character who grants the power of Geass. The Geass manifests differently in each individual, possibly related to their inner desires. The power of Geass increases with use, and should the user lack the willpower, they may be consumed by it, which was the case with Mao. C.C. calls Geass the Power of the King, and though she is unable to use the power herself, she is immune to the power being used on her. Lelouch states that the Geass is a form of wish (refering to himself and C.C.). However, people who have Geass are not immune to the Geass effects of others, unless that geass is a weaker form of the holders. Such is the case with Raito and Lelouch, Raitos Geass being the verbal and weaker version Of lelouchs Visual order geass. The Geass is represented by a glowing, bird-shaped symbol.
Every Geass, while powerful, has its own unique set of restrictions, limitations, or idiosyncrasies. These factors allow a Geass to be defeated, or its power limited, by someone who is aware of its characteristics. All Geass abilities that have thus far appeared within the canon of the television series have been related to the mind, influencing such things as will, thought, memory, and perception. Geass abilities Such as Nunnally's and those given by injecting C.C Cells have no such limitations. All Geass, regardless of user, appear in only one eye while the user is able to control it's activation. Once the user loses that control, the Geass will eventually begin to grow until it shows on both eyes. Around this point, the person who gave the Geass will grant the user his or her 'Code', thus removing the Geass and making the user an Immortal and immune to all Geass, and the person who gave them the Geass usually dies after granting a person his or her 'Code.'
Fake Geass- Spoiler:
A geass given to a user by injecting cells of a witch or warlock such as C.C and V.V. This in essences gives them a "Fake geass". The Trademark bird-shaped symbol appears on their forehead instead of in their eyes. It is the easiest way to tell if the geass is fake or real. The Fake geass have no limitations on them such as becoming permanent if used to much. The cells how ever can take over the human body if not restrained with a canceler syrum. If used to much though the cells will hyper react and the body can go into convulsions, this usually taking an hour to take effect. If however the syrum is counteracted and the cells are allowed to be fully activated the body has 2 minutes of enhanced power in which the geass becomes hyper active and it becomes 100 times as effective as the original is.
Geass Cancelor.- Spoiler:
This ability appears to cancel out all other Geass effects within a given range, hence the name "Geass Canceler". It will automatically reverse any Geass used on the user. It is an inverted Bird-like symbol in the left eye.
Sakuradite- Spoiler:
Sakuradite is the hardest material known to man. 100 times as hard an as effective as diamonds in cutting it was orignially used for bladed weapons until its conductive and highly explosive in a liquid state. It is used to power 3rd-9th generation Knightmares and can be convertred into a powerful bomb. The 7th-9th generation knightmare frames rely heavily on this material for their operaion.
Gefjun Disturber- Spoiler:
A Gefjun Disturber is a device created by Rakshata Chawla to disable Knightmare Frames. It does this by disturbing the chemical and mechanical processes of the Knightmare's sakuradite and interior computers and gears preventing movement, which also disables all sakuradite-based technology. In addition, the field blocks the motion of hadrons, radio waves, and microwaves. The Lancelot Conquista was developed with countermeasures that provide a partial defense against it. This resistance has been implemented on later 7th Generation Knightmare Frames. Other than this, it has shown several other uses such as controlling the blooming effect of hadron-based weaponry as well as a defensive shield against hadron and MSV-based weapons.
